Description:
The Query Browser seemed to work fine till I tried deleting rows from a table. After doing this, I got an error (cannot reproduce the error now).

I closed Query Browser, and tried re-opening it, and got the error :

"Access violation at address 003BB920 in module 'libmysqlqb.dll'. Read of address 00000000"

The window which displays query results was transparent.

I tried various things :

1. Reparing Query browser by re-running the msi.
2. Removing the installation and re-installing.
3. Dropping the catalog and re-creating.
4. Re-downloading the msi from mySQL.org and re-installing.

However, I always get the same error.

How to repeat:
Try deleting a large set of records in query browser.

Could you please check the following directory.

C:\Documents and Settings\YourUserName\Application Data\MySQL
(on a german box C:\Dokumente und Einstellungen\Mike\Anwendungsdaten\MySQL)

This is where the settings for the MySQL GUI tools are stored. Please zip the directory to have a backup and then remove all mysqlqb_* files (the files for Query Browser) and maybe also the mysqlx_* files (the common files shared by all GUI tools).

If QB starts correctly, please copy back file by file to see which one is currupted. If possible (and the file does not contain confidetial data) please attach this file to the bug report so we can trace the problem in the source and fix it.

We would appreciate this a lot, thanks in advance,
Mike

Removed all mysqlx_* and mysqlqb_* files files from c:\Documents and Settings\<myfolder>\mySQL.

Ran QB. Ran OK.

Replaced newly created mysqlqb_bookmark.xml with old file. Got the attached exception.

All other cases ran OK.

Hi,

Can you please give us the exact steps needed to reproduce this problem ?

Thanks a lot!

Hi,

My QB is working fine now. I tried to reproduce the problem but havent succeeded.

I faced this problem when I tried to delete a large set of rows from a table with foreign key contraints.

On closing the QB and re-opening, the window that displays the result set was transparent and I got an exception - I have attached this file to this bug report.

If the problem re-occurs,, I will inform you.

Thanks.

Thanks for getting back to us.

I will update the state of this bug report to Need Feedback and will leave it there until you provide a reproducible test case ok ?

Thanks

I wound up with this exact same bug after selecting a large number of rows and deleting them. Commenting out mysqlqb_history.xml fixed my problem. Dont really want to try and duplicate this. :p Been without query browser on this machine for over a year because of this.

By a lot of rows, I mean probably 1000+
