Description:
Upon downloading pretty much all resources available (connectors, router, mySQLUtilities, MySQLWorkbench, etc.) on the windows MySQL installer I found myself unable to configure my server options file as a result of no my.ini file being in the default MySQL server 8.0 folder. I tried reinstalling MySQL server but this did not fix the problem.

How to repeat:
Install MySQL Workbench and server, etc. using windows installer on windows 10 home

Suggested fix:
Reimplement the my.ini file to install and subsequent updates

In addition to this I recently discovered no data folder is created either which contains server logs, this causes
Error creating log reader, [Errno 13] Permission denied '...\\Data\\MSI.err'
clicking try again simple fails and oddly creates more check more options alternating between All and InnoDB
