Have you tried to repeat this hang it on newer versions of MySQL? I'd recommend to try on 5.0.12 or latest snapshots of 5.0.14-rc?

Description: Linux mysql server hangs after nearly one hour of processing. No queries execute on the server. The one hour period is a rough estimate. It may take more or even less time for the server to hang. How to repeat: 1. Start 10 sessions on each of the 10 clients to connect to Linux mysql server. 2. In each session start execution of testfiles. Expected Results: All the test files should be executed properly for as long as the stress run is executed. Actual Results: The test files execute properly for nearly an hour, after which the server seems to hang, without doing any processing.
