Description:
MySQL Administrator can not connect to a MySQL server 4.1.12 (Linux) locally and can not enter the Catalogs or the User Administration pages remotely.
The error with a local host connection is MySQL error 2002, cannot connect to MySQL file not found /var/lib/mysql/mysql.sock(111). With a remote connection the connection is lost when entering the Catalog or User Administration pages.
Removing MySQL 4.1.12 and installing 4.1.11 or 4.1.10a allows the MySQL Administrator to work. MySQL 4.1.11 does not allow changes in the User Administration pages and need to load 4.1.10a to use the GUI.

How to repeat:
Install MySQL server 4.1.12
