Description:
i have a slow connection from client machine (windows) using myodbc, query browser or phpmyadmin. but when using and connecting to a mysql (version for windows) is fairly fast. any suggestion on why im so slow on linux??? i havent got this kind of problem b4, i use mysql and linux for six years now..

How to repeat:
try installing redhat 9 or redhat 4.0ES and mysql with version 4.1.7, then connect to this server using query browser or phpmyadmin. even when executing a simple query, it is still very slow....
