Hello jack legs, Thank you for the bug report. Did you click on "Server Status or Client Connections" from MySQL workbench Administration tab? Regards, Ashwini Patil

Just got the same error in two different machines. After a fresh new installation, with the workbench open, select any instance (in this case the local instance) then when I tried to use some tools like Server Status under MANAGEMENT context menu, got this same error. Already cheked all my config files and everything seems fine

I was having the same issue, in the version 8.0.28 (Windows11), my solution was to change the regional system settings by checking the box: Beta: Use Unicode UTF-8 for worldwide language support. I found this solution here: https://stackoverflow.com/questions/68110905/i-get-this-message-in-mysql-in-windows-target...

Did you click on "Server Status or Client Connections" from MySQL workbench Administration tab? Hello team, please allow me to answer this question. It's not necessary for us to click on that to get this bug. I've been connecting without problems to my local host for days and this bug came up in the morning couple of days before after I started my pc. Having spent half a day waiting for it to recover by itself like I usually do, I ended up uninstalled the bench and the server, then installed them again yesterday. For the whole day past it worked well, the only problem was that the example data named akilia or something lost, leaving only the sys database which I don't dare to modify. This morning Beijing Time, I started my pc again, and again found the problem. My OS did updated a bit this very morning, which took several minutes. Does it help for you to locate the problem? Hope to receive by email any information in solving this problem. Thank you all for your job. Yours, Yang
