Description:
Please I have a problem installing MySQL, i.e. MySQL Installer 8.0.21
For authentication, I use strong password encryption.
I click “Next” and it takes me to Accounts and Roles.
I input current root password, click “Check” and this is the message I get:
“Could not connect to MySQL, the service is possibly down or the host is unreachable.”
I have done this several times but I’m not able to make progress.
I will appreciate your help.

PROBLEM SOLVED!

When I first installed MySQL, I used a password which was not strong enough.
Due to certain issues, I uninstalled the application and reinstalled it.
In the process of re-installation, I was asked to input current root password and I inputted a new and stronger password, for which I got the following message:
“Could not connect to MySQL, the service is possibly down or the host is unreachable.”
I went back to input the first password I used and I was able to complete the installation.
The problem is solved and I thank you very much for your assistance.

I need help install mysql previously but due to problems I had to reinstall it now when it asks me for the password when placing it, it tells me the following: "Could not connect to MySQL, the service is possibly down or the host is unreachable."
the password you enter is correct
