Description:
I am trying to connect to create a new data source in Excel 2000 using the My SQL driver using New Database Query. I select New Datasource, then enter a name, then select the MySQL ODBC 3.51 driver. Then when I press "connect" it gives me an error message "Cannot find driver {MySQL ODBC 3.51 driver} in system information. This appears to work on Excel 2003, but may have more to do with the setup on this computer than the version of Excel. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Specifically, what does it mean that it can't find it in system information? Do I need to do a special registration trick in addition to installing it?

Thanks.

How to repeat:
select New Datasource, then enter a name, then select the MySQL ODBC 3.51 driver. Then press "connect" to recreate the problem.

I tested with Excel 2003 and wasn't able to repeat.

I had the same problem - uninstalling and installing MyODBC solved the problem.

I'm having this same problem with Excel '97. I've tried reinstalling the 3.51 ODBC driver a couple of times.
