Description:
I've downloaded Windows Essentials (x86) 5.0.4-beta 15.6M from a couple of sites, among them United States [Redwire Broadband / San Diego, CA] HTTP

Your website MD5 checksum is: 65765cb8a2fe0f3f7acb671f71461d1f

When I run MD5sum I get...
c82eb2a0b82c85ad251ad2998eb40f86 *mysql-essential-5.0.4-beta-win32.msi

When I click on mysql-essential-5.0.4-beta-win32.msi one dialog is briefly displayed titled 'Windows Installer', 'preparing to install' and nothing else happens.

How to repeat:
Download 5.0.4 Windows Essentials version and click on the .MSI file.

I am changing for verified due the number of people reported
this issue and for our Web Site team to analyze that problem.
But how I said both msi installers are worked on my side.

I ran another download, this time from Sweden [Dataphone Sweden AB / Stockholm].

The checksum was correct for this source and I was able to install 5.0.4.

I have tried to download both the MSI and the Zip version from NA, Canada, Italy, Sweden and some others. Most of the mirror sites hang @ 92% done. The ones that have made it are corrupt. Zips come back with invalid CE.

A little more information, I have tried W2K and XPP with both IE and FireFox, get the same results for all.

I have downloaded tried fron 5 differet sites. I had the same problem with .msi file.
I was trying to install with the administrator account on Windows 2000 Professional. But it was still saying me file access problem.

Finally, I changed the security of the archive file only. Added everyone with full control rights and Voila!

Selamlar ve bol şans!

Our web team is looking into this to improve the upload of the files to the mirrows. I close this bug here since they use a different tracking system.
