Description:
Running the installer in the sqlServer portion will get to 89% then roll back and fail. This is happens in all installation choices and 8.x versions

researched solutions:
Installed x86 and x64 of C++ Redistributables from 2005 - (2015-2019)
Ran the MSI from an elevated command prompt

Looked for useful logs in event manager

https://bugs.mysql.com/bug.php?id=92392
Discussed unchecking unchecking server data files which helped me

Also, at one point when uninstalling other components to restart and try again, the application froze. It wasn't froze, but a hidden shell locked and was preventing any interaction with the window. killed the shell and was able to click remove installer and finish.

Also, in the install log it referred to a root drive as h:\
Why?

How to repeat:
Try to run offline MySQL Installer 8.0.20
Keep server data files checked

Suggested fix:
This issue keeps on coming up, countless times on the web and in this project management tools own forums

Why not just fix it by either not installing server data files by default, or figure out why it's failing in the first place and fix it.
