Various licensing options for the 4.1 client libraries are available, so it's definitely not a case of "mysql not providing ..." BakBone is an existing MySQL partner. We'll contact them and see what can be done.

In the meantime, you can of course enable the --old-passwords option and have the APM login to the MySQL server using the old password format. That will work.

Our partner manager tells me that BakBone is working to include the 4.1 client libraries. I will close this bug when I am notified that this has been finalized.

I understand from our partner manager that this has been resolved, the new libraries are in either BakBone's current or upcoming release.
