Description:
Attempting to yum install or yum update MySQL on a host with only IPv6 connectivity results in a failure due to repo.mysql.com not having an AAAA record.

Some hosting providers provide discounts for IPv6 only virtual machines. These VM's would make perfect back end MySQL hosts if it weren't for the fact that one can't install or update mysql on these hosts without going through hoops.

How to repeat:
Attempt to yum install or update mysql on an IPv6 only host using the mysql yum repo.

Suggested fix:
Add an AAAA record to repo.mysql.com

when i check:
host -t AAAA repo.mysql.com                                                                                                                                                                       
repo.mysql.com is an alias for repo.mysql.com.edgekey.net.                                                                                                                                                             
repo.mysql.com.edgekey.net is an alias for e7528.d.akamaiedge.net.  

i think it only need to be enabled on akamai

same problems for manual download

download is primary from dev.mysql.com (which has AAAA record)
but then redirects to cdn.mysql.com which is an alias for e7528.d.akamaiedge.net and has no AAAA record.

This is now resolved:

$ host -t AAAA repo.mysql.com   
repo.mysql.com is an alias for repo.mysql.com.edgekey.net.
repo.mysql.com.edgekey.net is an alias for e7528.dscd.akamaiedge.net.
e7528.dscd.akamaiedge.net has IPv6 address 2a02:a000:1:382::1d68
e7528.dscd.akamaiedge.net has IPv6 address 2a02:a000:1:3b5::1d68
