Description:
MySQL APT Repository for Debian Jessie returns 8.0.3-rc version when trying to install MySQL 8.0

There should be latest 8.0.11 version there!

How to repeat:
Just open "Packages" files for Debian Jessie and see it
http://repo.mysql.com/apt/debian/dists/jessie/mysql-8.0/binary-i386/Packages

Suggested fix:
Update "Packages" file to install latest MySQL 8.0 version.

Thank you!

Hi,

Debian 8 (as well as Ubuntu 14.04) support was dropped from MySQL 8.0 because of issues with the aging toolchain available on these platforms as well as their relatively low remaining lifetime. The overview of supported platforms can be seen at https://www.mysql.com/support/supportedplatforms/database.html

To use MySQL 8.0 on Debian you will need to upgrade to Stretch.

The 8.0 RC packages still being served for Debian 8 from repo.mysql.com should also be removed, since these are not supported and may cause problems for users if they later try to upgrade to a supported GA platform.

This means https://dev.mysql.com/downloads/repo/apt/ page should be updated too.

Right now it states that APT repository has MySQL 8.0 packages for Debian 7-8-9.

P.S.: Personally I don't think that Debian 8 is such an old to drop support for it.
