Description:
The APT repo for Ubuntu Trusty (14.04) appears to be missing the recent GA of MySQL 8. You can see here only RC packages available, which don't appear to install correctly: http://repo.mysql.com/apt/ubuntu/dists/trusty/mysql-8.0/binary-amd64/Packages.

In comparison, the GA appears to be available for Ubuntu Bionic (18.04): http://repo.mysql.com/apt/ubuntu/dists/bionic/mysql-8.0/binary-amd64/Packages. The documentation suggests that 14.04 should be supported: https://dev.mysql.com/doc/mysql-apt-repo-quick-guide/en/.

How to repeat:
Verify package contents by clicking links.

Suggested fix:
Deploy the MySQL 8 GA to the trusty repo.

Thank you for the bug report. Ubuntu 14.04 isn't supported for MySQL 8.0. Please see:

Thanks.
