Thank you for the bug report. Why you don't use 1280 by 800 resolution which fits?. Thanks.

MySQL Workbench requires at least 1024px vertically as described here: http://www.mysql.com/support/supportedplatforms/workbench.html.

Requiring 1024 vertically makes workbench basically unusable for anyone who has visual or mouse-movement disabilities and wants to set their resolution lower than 1920x1080. I use a lower resolution to because I have a mouse-movement disability and a lower resolution means everything is easier to click because buttons are bigger. Sounds like this wont be fixed though. That is a shame.

Hi Rod, thank you for the feedback. Can you please provide some screen shots of how Workbench looks on your screen?

Well, even though the specs say 1024px is the minimum, can MySQL Workbench be resized down to 720px. That would still overlap with your dock but at this small resolution it makes a lot of sense to auto-hide the dock to fully use all screen space you can get.

You are correct it does size down to 720px but there seems to be an arbitrary stop at that point. I use many different programs, IDEs, office, and other tools and workbench is the only program that arbitrarily refuses shrink down. IntelliJ IDEA for example is a much more complicated program than workbench and it still can size down. I don't put the dock on auto-hide because as I said, I have a mousing disability. Having things an auto-hide makes them difficult to click on with the mouse I use (a smartnav head mouse). Thanks, Rod

Rod, I understand your limitations, but please keep in mind that other people also have constraints, e.g. limited eye sight, which requires to have a certain minimum size for UI elements. It's unavoidable to have a compromise here and we believe that 768px (or even 720px) is a good one.
