There is no any issue with Windows 8.x Please check the version that you are using with the Visual Studio environment. Connector/Net newer versions don't have the Visual Studio integration included. You can use 6.6.x version or previous for integration with Visual Studio 2010. If you want to use Visual Studio 2013 with the MySQL graphical tools you would need the MySQL for Visual Studio product, which can be downloaded here: http://dev.mysql.com/downloads/windows/visualstudio/ And also make sure the version you use from Visual Studio is either Community, Professional or Ultimate. Express versions are not supported. Finally the driver is used for develop applications but it does not include the Visual Studio integration. The documentation about the integration with Visual Studio is here: http://dev.mysql.com/doc/connector-net/en/connector-net-visual-studio-install.html Please check it and let us know if this worked for you.

Ok, I had some earlier versions of visual studio on my system so i was thinking maybe this is the problem. Removed all versions of Visual Studio and reinstalled Visual Studio 2013 Professional Version 12.0.21005.1 REL Microsoft .NET Framework Version 4.5.51641 Using Windows 8.1 Pro 64 bit After this i installed MySQL Workbench 6.2.4 (x64) MySQL for Visual Studio 1.2.3 (x86) Connector/NET 6.9.5 (x86) Still no MySQL Datasource option available in VS 2013 What can be wrong? Thanks! Johan

Hello, I have uninstalled all again and restarted my system. According to the instructions of the VS2013 connector i first installed VS2013 MySQL for Visual Studio , restarted my system (just to be sure) and then installed the connector. I have added the installation log to this case. I do not see anything wrong in this log but maybe you can find something wrong. Thanks! Johan

Hello Johan Lijffijt, Thank you for your feedback. I could not repeat the issue at our end using with Visual Studio 2013, Connector/NET 6.9.8 and MySQL for Visual Studio 1.2.6. If you can provide more information, feel free to add it to this bug and change the status back to 'Open'. Thank you for your interest in MySQL. Thanks, Chiranjeevi.
