Please check for duplicate. Notice Express Edition isn't supported: http://bugs.mysql.com/bug.php?id=61117 . THanks.

Hi Michael, Yes I saw that duplicate and have commented there also. The reasons for closing it as "won't fix" are no longer valid. This is because VS Express 2012 definitely does support 3rd party plug-ins. I have some nice plug-ins installed from xPort Tools inc, that provide generic Excel file handling. So please can the team reconsider this, and add support for VS Express 2012 in the installer? Thanks, Rob

Thank you for the feedback. In this case I suggest you to change for Feature request. Thanks.

I will convert this to a feature request if can first kindly show me where is the documentation saying that Visual Studio Express 2012 is not supported currently. Otherwise it's a bug in the installer isn't it?

If you'd be prepared to let me have access to the installer script, I'm sure I can fix it ... it's probably just a one line change to recognise the ID string for "Microsoft Visual Studio Express 2012". The current installer just doesn't parse for the word "Express" right?

Thank you for the feedback. http://bugs.mysql.com/bug.php?id=61117 is enough documentation to say you Express Editions aren't supported with a status of won't fix then making a feature request development could analyze if in last Express Edition can be included. Thanks.

Changed to Feature Request ... in hope ...

VS Express editions have some license restrictions that does not support extending the IDE. In order to work with the MySQL provider within an Express version it should be installed only Connector/Net 6.7.4 or further version since these don't include the Visual Studio Integration.
