A work around?: When adding a new user using MySQL Workbench on a MySQL 5.6.7RC, the username is added and a "mysql_native_password" entry is added by default to mysql.user.plugin column. Somehow, the Workbench is complaining about the missing mysql_native_password plugin. If I open the mysql.user table, I can clear the entry in the plugin column. This seems to work. (mysql is hidden in the Workbench object browser by default).
