There are 3 "buttons" at the top right corner, just under "Oracle" while logo. The rightmost of them should enable/disable "SQL Additions" panel. Please, check if it works in your case.

To hide the SQL Additions Window: In MySQL Workbench, from the menu: View/Panels/Hide Secondary Sidebar (when you do, the legend changes to "Show Secondary Sidebar" so you can get it back at any time).

Confirmed: Clicking the right-most button in the right corner hides the SQL Additions panel. Thank you.
