Description:
When attempting to use the latest and greatest the MySQL installer was not able to locate a mirror for the Java connector.  There doesn't appear to be a documented way to manually insert package during the automated install.

How to repeat:
Download latest MySQL installer on a Windows 7 Professional 64-bit desktop.  After downloading, attempt to run the installer.  It fails to be able to locate an acceptable mirror the Java Connector, so that portion of the installation fails.

I do not see this problem with current installer, 5.5.21.0. Please, try again. Maybe it was temporary problem with some mirrors.

Tried again on clean 64-bit Windows 7 Home with MySQL Installer 5.5.22.1 from different ISP. Still no problem to find a mirror for Connector/J.

The problem may be a connection timeout issue.

I have a relatively slow internet connection.  I get my internet connection via a wireless ISP, and I am in a relatively poor reception area.

I have tried this download numerous times, and the only package that fails is the connector/J.

It would seem to me that there has to be a difference in the way that the connection for the connector/J is configured, versus the way that the other software packages are configured.

A nice workaround would be to modify the installer script so that re-downloading the files from the mirror is optional, rather then being mandatory (For an example of this, see Cygwin).

This is my first time installing MySql.
I have just installed package: mysql-installer-5.5.24.0.msi and get the same error.  I'm using Windows XP and located in South Africa.  I am using a fairly decent 3G HSPA+ mobile connection to download the additional packages.  I don't think that is of pertenance though.

The download is failing on Microsoft Windows 7 (64 bit) on a T1 fiber optic connection from Pittsburgh to Boston USA today 05-21-2012

Please, check if the same problem still happens with a recent version of Installer, 5.5.25.0.

I can't repeat with latest installer 5.2.29 on Windows 7 64-bits.
