Description:
I have tried to install "mysql-essential-5.1.50-winx64" or "mysql-6.0.11-alpha-win32" on my machine with following specifications:

ram-3gb
processor- intel core 2 duo
os- win xp sp3 professional

in the installation step o m getting an error saying "This installation package is not supported by this processor type. Contact your product vendor."

please help - krupali shah.

How to repeat:
Install Win2K3 R2 SP2 on the machine.
Attempt to install current MySQL freshly downloaded.

If this is 32-bit XP, please, try to download and install 5.1.52 for 32-bit Windows. Inform about the results.

Right-click "My Computer", choose "Properties", check if OS is 32 or 64 bit, pick appropriate MySQL installation package.
