Description:
This is very bizarre but it is also quite irritating so I hope someone can find out what's causing it.

When I run Workbench my mouse tracking speed slows down. That is, the motion of my pointer on the screens changes to about half speed when Workbench is open. This is the ONLY program that shows this kind of behavior and it ONLY happens when Workbench is selected as the front-most window. If I alt-tab to a different program, the tracking speed goes back to normal.

How to repeat:
Just run the program with this mouse and it will be very apparent that something is not right.

I am using a Logitech Optical Wheel Mouse M-BT58, just a few years old and is working great for everything else.

If you need more hardware information or want me to try other mice just let me know.

Hi Bob,

its more likely a driver issue than hardware - and a very weird one indeed.
do you happen to have another mouse around (non-logitech) which you could try?. also the screens you posted look like you installed specific mouse drivers ... would it be possible to disable/uninstall them temporarily?

I think I got it. I did the following:

-plugged in a mac mouse
-unplugged the logitech mouse
-uninstalled Logitech MouseWare
-rebooted
-plugged logitech mouse back in
-unplugged mac mouse

It works fine now. Thanks Johannes!
