Olivier, unfortunately, docx means nothing to me... I refuse to pay so much money for each "new" beta version of office. There are so many established formats you can grab screen to. Also, please see that archive checksum matches original and see all the logs that might help us resolve this issue. At least find the error number.

Thank you for the feedback. Have you some anti-virus application enabled?, if yes which one? have you tried to install disabling it temporarily?. Do you know if some Windows update have installed a new Windows Installer version?. Thanks in advance.

No antivirus application running. Windows installer not upgrade. New MYSQL 5.1.31 release installed this afternoon without any problem.

Thank you for the feedback. I tested the version 6.0.10 and I got different behavior (a message couldn't start the service ) and it is a bug already reported and verified. That is the same issue happens at your side?. Thanks in advance.

Posted by developer: This relates to an abandoned/unreleased version series of MySQL Server. Furthermore, the old plain msi installers have been superseded by the MySQL Installer for Windows. Thus closing.
