Description:
Hello,
I have installed Mysql Server - Version 5.0.37 distributed along with Fedora Core 7. I am able to connect to the database locally without any problem, but when i try to connect the database through workstation using Mysql ODBC 3.5.16 and test connection, i get error "Request returned with SQL_ERROR".

The same setup is working with MySQL Version 5.1.11-beta version installed on other machine. please suggest the solution for the same, i have tried installing server on different machines, and m able to ping the server through workstations.

How to repeat:
MySQL server is installed using the distro available with FC 7, and try connecting server from Windows OS using MySQL ODBC tool

Abhinav,

Two weeks ago we experienced some problems with MyODBC 3.51.16 mirrors resulted in corrupted packages. These problems have already been fixed, but it is strongly recommended to check MD5 checksum of the package installed on your machine. On MyODBC download page you can find needed MD5 for checking:
http://dev.mysql.com/downloads/connector/odbc/3.51.html

In case your package is ok please attach the ODBC driver log to the current bug report (#29799).
FYI: driver manager logging can be enabled from ODBC Data Source Administrator/Tracing. You will need to specify the location of the log file and click "Start Tracing Now" button.

The problem with 3.51.17 is a different problem, it's the same as Bug #29888.
