Description:
After downloading and installing the ODBC connector (mysql-connector-odbc-3.51.12-win32.msi), the driver does not appear as a selectable driver type when creating a DSN from the "Data Sources (ODBC)" snap-in.

I am using Windows Server 2003 Enterprise x64 Edition SP1.

I am upgrading from my old servers so this is on a fresh install with no other applications installed yet and no default Windows settings changed.

How to repeat:
1) Download driver [http://dev.mysql.com/get/Downloads/MyODBC3/mysql-connector-odbc-3.51.12-win32.msi/from/htt...]

2) Run the .MSI using the "Typical" setup type within the setup wizard.

3) Go to Start-> Control Panel-> Administrative Tools-> Data Sources (ODBC)

4) From User DSN tab-> Add..-> Select a driver for wich you want to set up a data souce.

Please do not submit the same bug more than once. An existing bug report already describes this very problem. Even if you feel that your issue is somewhat different, the resolution is likely
to be the same. Because of this, we hope you add your comments to the original bug instead.

Thank you for your interest in MySQL.

Explanation: This is a duplicate of Bug#20301. Please see full description there.

The resolution in Bug#20301 does not fix the issue.

I am depending on the driver operating in 64 bit mode and
the driver should be available in 64 bit mode.

Hi. This is actually a feature request.
We are aware that windows64 is the only OS where we do not have 64-bit MyODBC but we do not have any plans regarding this for now. From what I know, 3.51.13 will not be built as true 64 bit driver.

I am setting this report to "Verified" and severity to "S4".
Changing the synopsis to reflect the nature of report so not to be mistaken as "duplicate" again.

If nothing unexpected happens, there will be a Windows x64
driver in 3.51.18. Might not have an installer in that release,
i.e. be a bit more work to install.
