Description:
Queries disappear from query area when switching between tabs so that I need to use the history instead. This causes a lot of confusion and annoyance, as I have to name all queries and put them in bookmarks. Sometimes it happens that I do a query compare and switch between the two columns and when a query which has been edited a lot disappears the only way out is the history. But this is not satisfactory.

How to repeat:
Open query browser. Switch between tabs containing different queries. Execute them. Browse in the result sets. Also try to compare multiple result sets. I'm not really sure what causes the error.

Hello Jan,

Thank you for the report, but we need more info to reproduce this behavior.
I wasn't able to repeat it.
Whar version of QB do you use?
Can you describe _exact_ set of actions that causes this problem?

I am having the same problem on the following system.
MySQL Query Browser Version: 1.1.15
OS: Windows XP

I start MySQL Query Browser and connect to a database. I run my first query in the SQL Query Area. Then I add a tab which brings me to a blank SQL Query Area. I then go back to the first tab and the query is gone from the SQL Query Area. The results are still at the bottom of the screen but the query is missing.

It will happen regardless of what View->Maximize Query Size (F11) is set or not.

Thanks for the help,
Ken G

Same problem here.
MySQL Query Browser version: 1.1.15
OS: Windows XP SP2 (Dutch)

Reproduce:
- Start MySQL Query browser
- Type something (no matter what) in the SQL query area
- Open new Query Tab (by using the New Query icon, or the menu)
- Switch back to first query tab: it's empty.
- Text typed in a Script tab does not disappear

I'm experiencing the same issue here.

I have exactly the problem. I switched back to version 1.1.3 and it works as it should. Please fix this bug asap, becoz 1.1.3 has crash sometimes with access violations.

Same problem here with:

Querybrowser 1.15
Windows XP sp2

- Open query browser
- Enter text in query tab
- Open new query tab
- Click on tab "Resultset 1"
- Text is gone

Experience the same issue.

Win Tablet PC
QB .15

Turns out the disappearing text is hidden in the query history. If I click the back query history button the text appears.

MySQL Query Browser version 1.1.15 connected to DB on localhost
Windows 2000 SP4 (5.00.2195)
Intel Pentium III Mobile @ 1.2GHz
512MB RAM

1. Start Query Browser
2. Enter query ( select * from db.table; ) and execute.
3. Select a help topic from the list in the lower-right corner, which opens a help tab.
4. Return to the Query tab - query text is gone.

This happens EVERY time; Unable to NOT reproduce it.
This happens in both NORMAL mode and MAXIMIZE QUERY EDIT mode.

This is still a problem.

As "[26 Oct 17:47] Jeff Thurston" stated it is impossible to not reproduce this bug. It happens EVERY time you leave a tab.

Having to hit the back button on the history does get the SQL back into the “SQL Query Area” but this is an unnecessary step. If the results stay in a tab why doesn’t the query stay in the tab?

What more feed back is needed?
I can make a movie of the bug in action if you would like or send multiple screen shots showing what happens. I would be glad to do whatever I can help explain the problem.

It feels like this bug is fixed in the last version (1.1.17). It would however be nice to get confirmation that this is the case.
Best regards, Jan

I can confirm this bug is solved in version 1.1.17
(I'm using it right now)

In fact, your report is a duplicate of http://bugs.mysql.com/bug.php?id=13521 (and many others). The problem should be solved in versions of QB released after September 29th. It is surely not present in 1.1.17 any more (just checked once more right now).
