Description:
In the next step a security dialog will be shown for you to confirm the installation of Certificate. Please confirm the installation of the certificate in order to complete the installation of the extension.

when installing the certificate, it hung there for ever after clicking Next, a security popup window supposed to be shown up and ask your password to get your permission, but not shown up, and the installing hung there for ever. The MySQL Shell for VS code installing failed.

How to repeat:
by installing the MySQL Shell for VS code extension

Suggested fix:
find out what prevent the security window (that asking your password)to show up?
I assume once you enter your password, then it gets your permission to install the extension, the installing should be successful.

I have a similar issue. I use Ubuntu 22.04 and the latest versions of VS Code and extension. Any suggestions on how to install this certificate?

Workaround - install old version (for example, 1.5). run install.sh from ~/.mysqlsh-gui/plugin_data/gui_plugin/web_certs. and then update the extension to the latest version.
