Trying to access the MaxDb with Access XP is working fine

Udo, as you say that other clients can access the MaxDB database using ODBC, I doubt that this is a MaxDB related problem. Please check the KNLDIAG / Database Messages file if MaxDB closes the connection for whatever reason. If there's no hint in this files, continue your search by turning on the ODBC trace, check http://dev.mysql.com/doc/maxdb/en/14/1d733cefd63c38e10000000a114084/frameset.htm for details. If there's an error message in the trace, please post it. Best regards, Ulf

When I activate the ODBC trace the following is logged: _____________________________________________________ <html><head><meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=utf-8"></head><body ><PRE><PLAINTEXT> PRODUCT : MaxDB C-PreComp Runtime VERSION : 7.5.0 BUILD : 026-123-094-430 DATASOURCE: WDDSap SESSION : 1; SQLMODE : INTERN SERVERDB : WDD SERVERNODE: Servername.sap.intra CONNECT "USERID " IDENTIFIED BY :A ISOLATION LEVEL 1 SQLCODE: -4008 Unknown user name/password combination START : DATE : 2005-06-17 TIME : 0009:37:29 END : DATE : 2005-06-17 TIME : 0009:37:29 SQCFINISH ________________________________________________________ Is there maybe a problem which character set is used by the MSSQL Server and the MaxDB which make problem for the login?

Hi, according to the log you're not providing correct login credentials. Please verify username and password. I don't think that there's any issue with the character sets. Regards, Ulf
