Description:
Workbench freshly installed.
Windows 10, 64 bits.
Never had any version of Workbench installed.
Inside "Manage Server Connection" dialog, and without selecting any "MySQL Connection" on the left panel, WB crashes if user clicks on "Test Connection" or "Store in Vault...".

How to repeat:
1-Install workbench
2-Menu: Database / Manage Connections...
3-Just click on "Test Connection" or "Store in Vault..."
End-Workbench disappears completely, or Crash dialog is presented.

Suggested fix:
Workaround (before code gets fixed):
Before setting any connection parameters, click on NEW (bottom left) button to create a new Connection.
Only after that, set and test any needed connection parameters, in particular Vault/password.
---
Even with connections already created, the user MUST select any of them on the left panel EACH TIME it opens the "Manage Server Connections" (or creating a new one with the NEW button) before setting or testing another connection, to avoid the crash.

If the user forgets this, all the environment/windows/queries goes down, probably losing some work.
