Hello Guillermo Currás, Thank you for the report. How did you install MySQL Workbench? I suspect that somehow the image file "<path to WB installation>\images\ui\search_sidebar.png" has been dropped and it is causing problem. Alternatively, you can download mysql-workbench-community-6.2.4-winx64-noinstall.zip from http://dev.mysql.com/downloads/workbench/ and let us know if it still reports the issue. Thanks, Umesh

Hi! I used the MySQL Installer tool. The update popped up and i just upgraded my workbench from it. Right now, i installed the old version of the workbench and uninstalled the latest version, the bug disappeared. Thanks for your help.

Thanks Umesh, the workaround by copying missing files from workbench 6.24 zip archive worked. Btw, I got the same issue as Guillermo after upgrading in MySQL Installer. I tried below steps but still not seeing this issue: - Installed 6.2.3 - Tried to install mysql-installer-web-community-5.6.22.0.msi, which pointed to upgrade WB 6.2.3 -> 6.2.4 - Post upgrade, I don't see any issues with 6.2.4 Could you please help me with initial WB version, and exact installer you tried for this? After closing the error message, I would click on a local connection. Workbench would crash. Sorry - I can't help further; I immediately uninstalled & reinstalled and everything working now.

When I open Workbench, the image error shows. When I then try to connect an Unexpected Error occurs: MySQL Workbench has encountered a problem Parameter is not valid. When I close Workbench, it stops working/crashes.

I had 6.2 installed, but the auto updater had updated it to 6.3. My computer locked up so I had to do a hard reboot while Workbench was open. After reboot, Workbench had the same errors as mentioned by others. search_sidebar.png was missing (and I checked the folder mentioned, it really was gone), and connections would not work. I went into Control Panel->Programs and Features and did a 'Repair' on Workbench 6.3 CE. After that, it has opened and ran fine.

Hi! In my case I solved this with a workaround: I duplicated and renamed this image c:\Program Files\MySQL\MySQL Workbench 6.2 CE\images\ui\search_icon.png to c:\Program Files\MySQL\MySQL Workbench 6.2 CE\images\ui\search_sidebar.png

This error appears upgrading from 6.1 to 6.3 via MySqlInstaller on Windows I solved it copying al the images/ui/ content from source code to my installation path
