Description:
Via: http://www.tocker.ca/2013/12/16/proposal-to-change-mysql-replication-defaults.html

The general_log and slow_log tables are obsolete with the introduction of performance_schema w/statement level support.

The slow log has less information than the on-disk slow log (and certainly less than P_S).

Together they both use the CSV engine, and it would be nice to make mysql.* InnoDB only and reserved for configuration.

Also - keeping mysql.* small is important for DBA administration, as this aids a fast restore.
