Also experiencing this issue on mac OSX 10.9.1. Also present in WB 6.0.7 and didn’t correct itself after upgrading to 6.0.8. It worked fine for a few months, then suddenly stopped working. Not corrected on uninstall/reinstall. Menu item is grayed out, and keyboard shortcut does nothing. Coworkers are also experiencing this.

+1 here, and sadly is still present in just released 6.1.1.11562 build 1158 (6.1 Beta 1)

Posted by developer: fix confirmed in 6.1.2.11647. CMD+F now properly brings in the search bar, and puts the focus into the search-textbox.

Fixed as of the upcoming MySQL Workbench 6.1.2 release, and here's the changelog entry: On Mac OS X, "Command" + "F" did not open a search box in the SQL editor. Thank you for the bug report.
