Description:
Netbook: HP Mini 110-3004tu
OS: Windows 7 Starter Edition
Max screen resolution: 1024 x 600

When I try to create a new server instance in MySQL Workbench, the wizard appear, but I cannot see the three buttons at the bottom.

How to repeat:
1. Either use a Netbook with 1024 x 600 resolution, or switch your screen resolution to 800 x 600.
2. Run Workbench.
3. Click "New Server Instance" under "Server Administration".

Suggested fix:
Minimize the size of the interface.

Thank you for the bug report. According the Manual:

3.1. Hardware Requirements

<cut>

Display Resolution: 1280×1024 is recommended, 1024×768 is minimum.

Please verify if your display can be configured with the minimum resolution mentioned above. Thanks.

Reply to Miguel Solorzano,

It is a 10.1 inch netbook, and I need to use it to do my project, and my project require MySQL. The netbook cannot support resolution higher than 1024 x 600.

By looking at the attached screenshot, there are a lot of blank space at the bottom. This will be a waste.

And, a lot of software developers also put a lot of interface components on the GUI of their software, but they use scrollbar to make their software support Netbook. So, in case if MySQL developers need to add many components into the GUI, please consider using scrollbar.

Many students' budgets can only afford a Netbook computer, while at the same time they need to use MySQL to do their project. I hope that developers of MySQL can take this into consideration when developing MySQL.

Your concern on this matter will be appreciated.

Try enabling autohide for the Windows taskbar, it is using a lot of space.

Also, why not to attach cheap external monitor, even CRT one? They should cost nothing these days. My 11 years old 17" LG still works and provides 1280x1024 or so...

Actually, asking to provide usable interface for 1024x600 screen resolution is a reasonable feature request. Just not sure it will get high priority, as recently even netbooks start to provide 1024x768 if not more...

Using scrollbar will be useful if really a lot of components have to be added on the GUI.

As someone suggested using an external monitor. This is not possible for me as I need to do my project even when I am outside. The monitor will be too heavy to carry around.

I think this is a valid feature request to re-design GUI on Windows so that it is usable on 1024x600 typical netbook resolution.
