Due to an editing error, I included the word "time" twice in the first sentence of my original comment. The phrase should be, "each time I click on an item on the menu bar".

I do not see this on Ubuntu 8.04.

To clarify my original report, the problem also occurs when I maximize the window using the rectangle icon near the upper right corner of the window. Also, the title bar alternately appears and disappears when I click most places on the window, perhaps anywhere, not just the menu bar. I am using Kernel Linux 2.6.31-19-generic and GNOME 2.28.1. I think 32-bit. I lowered the status to S3 (Non-critical) since there is a work around, i.e., do not maximize the window, instead stretch the un-maximized window to fill the screen.

Many thanks for writing a bug report. We have some problems at the moment with screens that are bigger then 1280.

This is some kind of "feature" from GTK or GNOME. When a window doesn't fit the screen, it hides the titlebar so that it has more space for actual content. A workaround would be to try reducing the screen size requirement by reducing the DPI in gnome-font-properties and to also have a single task/menubar in GNOME desktop (ie, instead of a menubar at top + taskbar at bottom, have a single one with both functions)

we have optimized the layout so workbench should be usable on 1024x768 (with small trade-offs). confirmed in repository version

An entry has been added to the 5.2.21 changelog: When MySQL Workbench was maximized it did not fit correctly onto the screen, the title bar was not displayed.

The problem still exists with MySQL Workbench version 5.2.21 Beta on Linux Ubuntu 10.04.

Could you please try version 5.2.22.Thanks in advance.

The problem seems to be solved in version 5.2.22 RC on Linux Ubuntu 10.04 with screen resolution 1366 x 768, which is great. Since I now see that version 5.2.21 Beta only promised to fix the problem with screen resolution as large as 1024 x 768, I should not have reported its inability to solve the problem with screen resolution of 1366 x 768, or I should have at least pointed out the higher resolution. Thanks.
