Description:
When the MySQL Workbench window is maximized, its title bar disappears if it is there, or reappears if it is not there, each time I click time on an item on the menu bar, such as File, Edit, View, etc. Thus, the only way to select something from the menu bar is to click below the item when the title bar is not visible.
I expected that clicking on an item on the menu bar would open the appropriate drop down menu, rather then making the tile bar disappear or reappear.

How to repeat:
Open MySQL Workbench, double click on the title bar to maximize the window, and click on an item on the menu bar.

Due to an editing error, I included the word "time" twice in the first sentence of my original comment. The phrase should be, "each time I click on an item on the menu bar".

I do not see this on Ubuntu 8.04.

I couldn't repeat on Ubuntu 9.10 X64.

whats your screen-resolution? (i can't repeat that on my ubuntu boxes either)

My screen resolution is 1366 x 768 (16:) on a 15" laptop screen.

To clarify my original report, the problem also occurs when I maximize the window using the rectangle icon near the upper right corner of the window.
Also, the title bar alternately appears and disappears when I click most places on the window, perhaps anywhere, not just the menu bar.
I am using Kernel Linux 2.6.31-19-generic and GNOME 2.28.1. I think 32-bit.

I lowered the status to S3 (Non-critical) since there is a work around, i.e., do not maximize the window, instead stretch the un-maximized window to fill the screen.

I'm Getting the same problem. Screen Res 1024X768 have tried 600X400 also no effect.the screen jumps up when the bar disappears making it impossible to double click on anything

This is some kind of "feature" from GTK or GNOME. When a window doesn't fit the screen, it hides the titlebar so that it has more space for actual content. A workaround would be to try reducing the screen size requirement by reducing the DPI in gnome-font-properties and to also have a single task/menubar in GNOME desktop (ie, instead of a menubar at top + taskbar at bottom, have a single one with both functions)

we have optimized the layout so workbench should be usable on 1024x768 (with small trade-offs).

An entry has been added to the 5.2.21 changelog:

When MySQL Workbench was maximized it did not fit correctly onto the screen, the title bar was not displayed.

The problem still exists with MySQL Workbench version 5.2.21 Beta on Linux Ubuntu 10.04.

The problem seems to be solved in version 5.2.22 RC on Linux Ubuntu 10.04 with screen resolution 1366 x 768, which is great.

Since I now see that version 5.2.21 Beta only promised to fix the problem with screen resolution as large as 1024 x 768, I should not have reported its inability to solve the problem with screen resolution of 1366 x 768, or I should have at least pointed out the higher resolution.
