Description:
when creating a layer in a new eer diagram they is no option to rename the current select layer. even if you double click it in the explorer window on the right.

How to repeat:
add a new layer and double click it to name the layer, or right click to edit layer no response.

Suggested fix:
allow object to be selected within the module for editing as in the windows version module.

thank you -

after i search for the bug and no search strings matched, i went and tried that at the property level and it worked after i submitted the bug request. i latter versions are we going to be able to edit the name in the layer tab or just in the property's tab?

I think asking for more obvious way to rename the layer would be a reasonable feature request.

A layer editor has been added. It can be brought up by double clicking the layer title.

An entry has been added to the 5.1.13 changelog:

On the Linux version of MySQL Workbench it was not possible to rename a layer by double-clicking it in the Layers window (which is typically docked to the right hand side of the screen).

A layer editor has now been added to the Linux version of MySQL Workbench. This can be activated by double-clicking the layer's title.

thanks for the update on this issue/request. I have another topic for layers as well.

on the reverse engineer import function, and we have the option to import objects into the canvas for modelling.

can you edit this feature to include a per schema layer.

for instance on upload you upload 10 schemas. and you want to import those 10 schemas into a canvas for modeling. why not auto create a layer to have each schema on its own layer and just name the layer the schema name which of course can be renamed.

this would save quite some time for editing and layouts.

thanks in advance.
