Description:
It would be great if the layers and tables could be sorted alphabetically.
It is the kind of little things that are not a big deal, but if they were present, your life would be better and easier.
The layer tab is in fact the major navigation tool in big schema. Find the table you want accross more than thousands, even classified in layers, without an alphabetical order is quite hard.

How to repeat:
Create a big schema with many many tables, and now find in less than 5 seconds where a particular table is in the model.
If you can't do it : you've caught the bug.

Many thanks for writing a feature request.

Verified by using Workbench OSS 5.0.27.

Layer and table names should be sorted alphabetically in lists.

this was introduced in 5.1.6

An entry has been added to the 5.1.6 changelog:

MySQL Workbench has been changed so that layers and tables listed in the Layers palette are sorted in alphabetical order, making it easier to find the required object.
