Thank you for a feature request. In what way you want that version to be presented? On Linux when I apply strings command to libmysqlclient.so I clearly see version (like 6.0.8-aplha) among the results.

no feedback only due to not notified of update since wasn't subscribed. wny not subscribed by default? mmm ... anway, I don't know about linux, and don't care about linux. my request was clearly about windows. in windows there are many standard ways to retrieve the version from a .dll. a well know one is to right click and choose properies then details. try it.

Indeed, for *.dll in, say, c:\WINDOWS\System32, Properties contains a tab with a lot of version-related information on my XP. Nothing similar for libmysql.dll. Thank you for a nice feature request.

Verified that the properties tab for the libmysql.ddl that ship with Server 5.5.30 and 5.6.10 both display version number as requested.
