Description:
On main Mysql Workbench screen ("MySql Model" tab) you can choose to export as png, but no png is saved.

How to repeat:
open mysql workbench
go to file->Export->Export as PNG
select location to save PNG click save
nothing happens

expected result: greyed out "export as png" OR new png of the page
actual result: no success or error message and no png.

Suggested fix:
either grey out the "export as png" option when on "MySql Model" tab (and possibly other export options) or actually export this screen as an image

Thank you for the bug report. Sorry but I am able to create a png file of
a simple model I did just to test this bug. Could you please provide the
output of Help->System Info for the record. Thanks in advance.

I think you tested something different.

Not an export of a simple model... an export of the default "MySQL Model" that contains the following sections:

"ERR Diagrams", "Physical Schemata", "Schema Privileges", "SQL Scripts", and "Model Notes"

This is the default page when you open the application.

could you please check again and take a look at the statusbar of workbench? There should be the message "Current View cannot be exported as image" - but i admit that his isn't really obvious to the user. we consider making the menuitems grayed out if overview page is focused.

ah indeed it has a message in the status bar. I doubt many users will see this message though so graying it out seems like a better solution.

This is definitely not too serious though as this isn't a screen that you would want/need to export to PNG.

So, this looks like a reasonable feature request.

the graphical export-items are now greyed out when overview is active (tested in SVN Rev 3011)

Noted in 5.0.18 changelog.

The "File->Export->Export as PNG" menu item was enabled under some
circumstances in which it should have been disabled.
