Description:
Choosing "Hide Menu Items not Applicable to this Edition" can confuse the user. If this option is selected, the options under the "Find" option button are removed but the "Find" option remains. Many applications immediately open a find dialogue window upon clicking a "Find" menu option. Users might expect the same to happen here and when it doesn't they may believe that the application is broken.

How to repeat:
Choose Tools->Options and on the "General" tab click the "Find" menu item "Hide Menu Items no Applicable to this Edition". Click the "Edit" menu and see that there is a "Find" option with no submenus.

Suggested fix:
Under the "Edit" menu option remove the "Find" menu item whenever "Hide Menu Items no Applicable to this Edition" is chosen. Otherwise I suspect that there will be bug reports that this menu item "doesn't work".

The real problem is that the simplified find dialog was not available in OSS.

works now in SVN Rev 2776

A note has been added to the 5.0.17 changelog:

When using the Hide Menu Items Not Applicable to this Edition option, a simplified version of the Find dialog box was not available
