Description:
In the MySQL manual of a Japanese version in all distributed formats (online/tarball), the code not permitted as character-code (EUC-JP) mixes.

They exist behind the link to other chapters.
docs/en/manual_Environment_variables.html
- the 33rd line:
... See section <A HREF="manual_Using_MySQL_Programs.html#Option_files">4.3.2 Using Option Files</A>.

The above-mentioned end is 3C-2F-41-3E-2E-0A-0A in the binary.
However, the same part is 3C-2F-41-3E-2E-"A3"-0A-0A in a Japanese version.

For an improper code that is this A3, the text editor and a web browser display the collapsed.

How to repeat:
If you get the Japanese version manuals distributing now (13-Mar-2004), you can confirm it.

Suggested fix:
Please correct all similar parts.

Dear Sumito Oda,

can you please clarify what you mean by "the text editor and a web browser
display the collapsed". Are you reporting that hyperlinks do not work correctly in the Japanese manual? Also, did you encounter those problems with both the online and the downloadable version?

Please look at the images in attached file about the meaning of "The screen collapses".
It is not because there is an obstacle in the "Screen Transition" such as the Link though influenced the "Screen Display".

There must not be problem in the change of punctuation marks.
The code of the unit named A3 (They are not the combinations such as A1A3),
I think that it simply mixes with the rhythm of something.

The illegal value back doesn't collapse but all of a pertinent line have collapsed in displaying the text editor.
This seems the one by the operation specification of the editor in the place in which it tried.

Reassigning to jimw. Docs can't do much about this.
