Description:
The Solaris 10 tar packages for 5.0.27 do not include shared libraries. This makes it unusable for interfacing with Perl since DBD::mysql requires shared libraries instead of static.

How to repeat:
1. Dowload Solaris 10 tar package from MySQL
2. Untar package
3. Look for files ending in .so in lib directory

Suggested fix:
Use --enable-shared when configuring build

Thank you for a problem report. Verified with mysql-max-5.0.27-solaris10-sparc-64bit.tar.gz, at least.

Noted in 5.0.40 changelog.

Binary distributions for Solaris and Mac OS X
did not include shared libraries.

Changed wording slightly (per build team request) to make it clear that all platforms ship with shared libraries now, except AIX.

This appears to affect 5.0.40 as well (mysql-enterprise-gpl-5.0.40-solaris10-sparc) now that shared libraries are being distributed in this version, that were not previous (bug #16520)
