I see them. Could you please attach here a screenshot that shows the problem?

I also see the same problem with this version (1.1.19) on Windows 2000. See screenhosts here http://www.muffinresearch.co.uk/i/querybrowser.gif and here http://www.muffinresearch.co.uk/i/querybrowser2.gif The first screenshot shows the blank menus as referred to in the original bug. Also note that the selected menu shows black text where it says 'script' in between 'query' and 'tools'. This makes it very hard to read. The second screnshot shows text selected in a query. You'll notice that selected text becomes white.

Same Problem on Windows 2003 after updating from 1.1.18 to 1.1.19. Inactive Menu-Items empty and only visible (greyed) under the cursor. --> Screenshot uploaded here: http://www.pfiff-nrw.de/Screenshot_QB_1.1.19_Menue.gif

The problem is the choice of system colors used for the text. The developer who changed them and the people saying it looks fine are most likely using the Windows XP theme which has slightly different colors defined. Referring to the system color list at http://msdn.microsoft.com/workshop/author/dhtml/reference/colors/colors.asp the system color now being used by MySQL Query Browser to render disabled menu text appears to be "inactivecaptiontext", which on a "Windows 95" theme is exactly the same color as "menu" which is used as the menu background. "greytext" might be more appropriate. The text color of a highlighted menu item should also be changed to "highlighttext" to be more standard and increase visibility.

J'ai le même bug sur windows 2000 et XP SP2 avec le style windows classique.

C'est à partir de la version 1.1.18 que ca a commencé. La version 1.1.17 ne comportait pas ce bug.

on windows 2000 the color scheme of the query browser, makes it almost impossible to read selected items. When selecting text within the "SQL Query Area" it becomes invisible, when trying to select it. When right clicking in the result area, selected menu items are almost impossible to read (because of the selected colors) Please allow for "customizable" color schemes and/or colors ! Thanks.

I also have this bug since I upgraded to 1.1.19. I am using Windows XP, SP2, with the 'Windows Classic Style' and 'Windows Standard' color scheme. Inactive menu items are invisible unless highlighted. And the query text becomes invisible if it is selected.

I confirm this bug on Win XP Professional , SP2, using Mysql Query rowser 1.1.19. I also confirm it didn't exitst in version 1.1.14. Using display theme "Windows Classic", both the disabled menu items and selected in text in the query box are invisible. With display theme "Windows XP" the disabled menu items become barely visible but selected text is still invisible. There is a workaround that works for me: Using Control Panel's Display tool, select "Apperance" tab, and "Advanced" button. In the appearing windows ("Advanced Appearance"), select Item "Selected items" and change the Font Color into something else than white; and for Item "Inactive title bar", change the Font Color into something else than light grey. Unfortunately, the workaround obviously affects all other windows programs by changing their look as well. This workaround suggest that the Mysql Query Browser's Windows implementation uses the Windows' Selected Font Color (instead of background color) for selection backgroung; and for disabled menu item fonts the Disabled Title Bar fonts color.

I have the same problems with WinXP SP2 Query Browser 1.1.19. Maybe a possible workaround for you guys: - choose "Windows XP" Design-Schema - go to the 2nd tab from right (in my german WinXP it is "Darstellung", should be something like "Display" or "Design") and choose the "silver" colourschema (it doesn't work for me with the "blue" or "olive green" colourschema, but it works with the "silver" one!) hope to help somebody, greetz Björn Kruse

This appears to be fixed in 1.1.20 which was recently released.
