Description:

When I drag a table from object browser to the results area, the cursor changes to no-drop sign, not allowing the completion of drag'n'drop.

I was expecting that the drop would result in a "select * from <tablename>" query that would be executed automatically, as in 1.1.15 version, filling the results area with the table records.

How to repeat:
Start Query Browser, open a database and try to drag a table to the results area.

It worked exectly like you expected in 1.1.15... Just checked on XP.

I was able to repeat this issue on XP and verified that 1.1.15 works.

Sorry, I can't repeat this problem with the current source and I do not remember anything wrong in this regard, so this might have been an intermittent glitch that was fixed already.
