Description:
After creating a new mysql.com user account and completing program installation, the account is not actually created (or is significantly delayed in doing so) and must be repeated on the mysql.com site before access is granted.

This was also tested on a second machine that lacks a software firewall to see if this was simply a missing error screen to notify the user of firewall block of communication, however this second account also failed to register.

How to repeat:
During installation, select 'Create New User' option at mysql.com account page. After installation, attempts to login via chosen account information will fail at mysql.com

Suggested fix:
Probably just a commented out or missing push.

I do not think this is related to a bug in the installation process itself.

It can be just a temporary overloaded mysql.com site (it looks like this for more than a week for me). Please, try to use the account you created tomorrow and inform about the results.

The account I tried to create during installation process of 5.0.13-rc still unknown at mysql.com. So, I mark this bug report as verified.

Just tried this and checked the web server logs, there is no log of any activity from the IP address of the test PC, so I'd say the bug is definitely in the installer and not further up the chain.

Just a follow up on this, just tested on Win XP, and did a packet trace on the network and no packet traffic of any sort is generated by the sign up page.

One more piece of information, it appears that login works, but create account doesn't. Login calls out and connects to www.mysql.com, but on create account there is no network activity.

Windows XP and 2000 are no longer supported platforms for MySQL Server, Server 5.0 is EOL, and Server 5.5+ now ships as part of the MySQL Windows Installer. Thus closing this. If you are able to reproduce on newer Server and Windows version, please let us know.
