Thank you for the bug report, this issue is a limitation of the current installer version. A new installer is in the work and I am assiged Mark for to analyze this behavior when the new installer will be introduced.

Posted by developer: Closing this since the MySQL Installer for Windows has taken over from the old plain msi installers for MySQL on Windows.
