Tested on win xp sp2. Actually I created user with russian name (cp1251) and started QB, changed some options, closed QB and started it again. And got the same error message. So this error appears if non-latin1 chars are in the name

I would say this is a critical bug, as it prohibits use of MySQL Query Browser on XP by anyone with an unlaut in their name, which is a common occurence in many countries. When these XML files cannot be opened, there seems to be even more issues, the screen repaints gets strange, and there are some Access violation errors (these tow seem related). Deleting the XML-files before each time one connect is the only was to solve this issue, but this is clearly not acceptable in the long run.

This error occurs in Query Browser and Administrator, but not in previous versions of these products (I run curently the 1.1.9 and 1.0.21, respectively). I raise this error if I run the last versions. I have the french version of Win2000, and the setting dir of MySQL is : C:\Documents and Settings\mylogin\Données d'applications\MySQL My login doesn't contain accent. So I suppose that the "é" character is the one which cause the error.
