Posted by developer: Fixed as of the upcoming MySQL Workbench 8.0.12 release, and here's the changelog entry: SSH tunneling support was added to the MySQL Workbench Migration Wizard and also to the wbcopytables command-line utility for copying data. Thank you for the bug report.
