Description:
system_time_zone can not be SELECTed like other variables in SHOW VARIABLES output.

How to repeat:
SELECT @@system_time_zone;

Suggested fix:
Make it SELECTable.

A patch for this bug has been committed. After review, it may
be pushed to the relevant source trees for release in the next

I tested in 5.0.22 and am still receiving the error.

Sorry, the 5.0.x fix actually ended up going to 5.0.23.
